Dr Khaled Albouaini

Trained at Mersey Deanery (LHCH and RLBUHT) and Damascus University,Dr K Albouaini is currently a Consultant Cardiologist at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital with honorary consultant positions at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital (complex pacing) and at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary (coronary interventions/ angioplasty). He is also an honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Liverpool University.

Dr Mark Hall

Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist,Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital

Trained at Manchester Deanery Dr Hall obtained him MD from Manchester University in 2009.Dr Mark Hall is currently a Consultant Cardiologist and one of the five electrophysiologists at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital. He highly regarded among his colleagues and peers. Dr Hall is an excellent speaker and has extensive experience of teaching at national level.

Dr Julian Hobbs

Royal Liverpool University Hospital & Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital

Dr Julian Hobbs is a Consultant Cardiologist at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital and Cardiothoracic Centre in Liverpool, where he works as a general cardiologist with an interest in pacemakers and implantable defibrillators. He completed his research into atrial fibrillation funded by the British Heart Foundation. He took a Registrar post in Manchester having completed his general medical training in Liverpool and at Sheffield University, from which he qualified in 1991.

Dr Moutaz El Kadri

Dr El Kadri is a consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital. He gained his medical degree from the University of Aleppo-Syria. He has a Master’s degree in cardiology from the University of Brighton and a PhD in cellular electrophysiology from the University of Liverpool. He had extensive training in cardiology and electrophysiology in the Merseyside deanery and the USA (University of Michigan). He has an interest in the management of complex atrial and ventricular arrhythmias as well as complex devices. He has a major interest in medical education.

Dr S Modi is consultant Electrophysiologist with special interest in sudden death screening, Ablation of SVT, AF and VT. He is also regional coordinator for electrophysiology and is actively involved in teaching and training.

Mr Hassan Shaaban career in plastic surgery expands over 20 years and involves working at the busy unites in Liverpool, Manchester and Leeds.His main speciality is oncoplastic reconstruction of the face and breast.Mr Shaaban has achieved many awards during his under-graduate education and post-graduate career. Mr Shaaban has over 25 publications in international peer-review plastic surgery journals. Mr Shaaban is invited regularly to national and international plastic surgery scientific meetings and courses for his expert opinion and teaching.

Dr Jason Pyatt

Dr Jason Pyatt was appointed as consultant cardiologist in 2003 at Royal Liverpool university hospital. He has special interest in heart failure, implantation of complex cardiac devices, biventricular pacing and extractions at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital.

Dr Vishal Sharma

Clinical Director and cardiologist, Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospital

Dr Sharma is a Consultant Cardiologist with a special interest in cardiac imaging. He completed his specialist cardiology training, including a fellowship in Cardiac Imaging in the West Midlands and Auckland, New Zealand. He was awarded the Young Investigator Award for his research in stress echocardiography and has several publications in the fields of cardiac imaging. He is accredited in the fields of Cardiac CT, Cardiac MRI, transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography.

Dr Jay Wright

Lead Clinician for Heart Failure and Cardiac Devices (pacemakers, ICDs and CRT).Chair of the LHCH Research Committee

Dr J Wright is National Mentor for Cardiac Resynchronisation Therapy to the National Technology Adoption Agency, Clinical Lead for the National pacemaker/ICD complication database and not the least Chair of the heart failure subgroup for the Institute of Cardiovascular Medicine and Science. He has published extensively in major cardiology Journals. Dr Wright has delivered talks at various international conferences.

Dr Raphael A Perry

Deputy Medical Director, Liverpool heart and chest Hospital.

Dr R Perry is an Interventional Cardiologist of national standing. He has a key role in regional and national training of cardiologists. He is training programme director for cardiology is Mersey deanery and network lead for Cheshire and Merseyside cardiac network.

Dr Michael Fisher

Dr. Michael Fisher qualified in 1988, having studied medicine at St. Andrews in Scotland and at Manchester Universities and then undertook initial training around Manchester gaining a Cardiology registrar rotation in 1992. He moved to Cardiff in 1995 to undertake research on the role of nitric oxide in the vascular response to injury, culminating in the award of a PhD in 2001. He was then appointed consultant cardiologist with a interest in coronary intervention in 2002, where he has been since.

Dr Mohaned Egred

Dr Egred graduated from Damascus University and trained in Cardiology in Liverpool. He obtained his MD from Aberdeen University and spent a year as an Interventional fellow in Canada.Dr Egred took his consultant post in 2008 and an honorary senior lecturer at Newcastle University since 2009. He has a special interest in complex coronary interventions and adjunctive devices. He also has a special interest in percutaneous Mitral valve interventions and one of the few in the UK who perform percutaneous mitral valve interventions.Dr Egred is a proctor and trainer for consultants in multiple complex coronary procedures.Dr Egred is an examiner and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and the European Society of Cardiology.
